Lubuntu 11.10 o 12.04?

Buona sera ragazzi Idea
possiedo un pc un pò vecchiotto sul quale ho installato quasi un annetto fa Lubuntu 11.10.
Da un pò di tempo a questa parte, però, ho riscontrato un pò di rallentamenti e quando apro più schede internet o più applicazioni si rallenta notevolmente.
Ho notato che è uscito Lubuntu 12.04. Mi consigliate di passare a questa versione? Se si, perchè? Non conosco le migliorie apportate a questa nuova versione quindi ogni delucidazione in merito è ben accetta (soprattutto se riguarda il miglioramento della velocità Cool)

Mi viene in mente il fatto che la versione 12.04 dovrebbe rientrar nel novero delle versioni LTS (insomma, disporre di un "supporto a lungo termine" [5 anni, se la memoria non m'inganna]), il che non vale, invece, per la versione 11.10...

Lubuntu 12.04 non è LTS, ma il suo supporto in quanto a aggiornamenti per la sicurezza durerà comunque 5 anni. il supporto del team di sviluppo per tutti gli altri aggiornamenti un anno e mezzo, ma a questo si può porre rimedio in vari modi quando sarà il momento.

Più che altro, il kernel di questa 12.04 pare non essere il massimo sui vecchi hardware. fossi in te, proverei a installare Lubuntu 12.04 nella sua Installazione Minimale, in modo tale da minimizzare lo spazio occupato su disco e la pesantezza del sistema. il resto lo andrai ad installare tu. poi farai un confronto con le prestazioni della 12.10.

In alternativa, segnalo PCLinuOS LXDE se questa 12.04 non dovvesse andar bene.
