Driver Asus

Salve ho installato la vs plus remix 64 bit con ubuntu 14.04 in dual boot con w 10 su un portatile Asus e tutto è andato a buon fine.
Purtroppo non mi funziona ne il mouse(funziaona solo in usb esterno) ne lo schermo touch.
Ho letto una guida per installare driver asus proprietari ma purtroppo per un discorso di time out le chiavi a fine installazione non si riescono ad installare.
ho usato i seguenti comandi:
deb http://asus.archive.canonical.com/updates precise-annan public
deb-src http://asus.archive.canonical.com/updates precise-annan public

Quei repository sono per precise, quindi per ubuntu 12.04.
A te servirebbero quelli per trusty (ubuntu 14.04).

Se sai quali sono i pacchetti che ti servono puoi comunque provare a vedere se, in carenza di quelli propri per 14.04, possono essere installati anche quelli di 12.04: con il browser te li scarichi e poi li installi uno a uno con gdebi oppure (anche tutti insieme) da terminale con

$ sudo dpkg -i nomepacchetto1, nomepacchetto2, ...
Potrebbero sorgere problemi di dipendenze, che dovresti risolvere sempre "manualmente" (scaricare ed installare), pertanto può diventare un calvario.

Prova ad elencare i pacchetti che ti servirebbero.

L' assenza delle chiavi gpg non inibisce minimamente il corretto download del software disponibile sulle repositry . Il pacchetto può essere installato regolarmente tramite il gestore dei pacchetti synaptic .

distupgrade non installa nulla , aggiorna unicamrente il SO presente. Avvii synaptic e dalla sua ricerca interna cerchi il firmware di cui hai bisogno , lo installi poi riavvii il SO , non ti serve altro . I driver rilasciati su reposistri Canonical sono già da se i driver proprietari di Asus .

perdonate l'ignoranza....
da synaptic ho installato tutto ciò che riguardava asus ma invano.
Nessun driver aggiuntivo è presente nel menu driver.
Non ho la minima idea di quale(nome)firmware mi serva, l' unica cosa che so è che riguardano al mouse a al touch dello schermo(non indispensabile)
Esiste un modo per identificare almeno i driver necessari.
Esiste una guida per poter installare i driver proprietari che non sono presenti in srtumenti di sistema->preferenze->driver aggiuntivi?(nessun driver presente)
sono da ricercare da altre parti?

Sapere che è "un portatile Asus" è un po' poco per quello che chiedi.
Prova a fornire esatto modello del computer e l'output dei seguenti comandi (che interrogano l'identificazione hw ed i moduli caricati)

Non pare proprio trattasi di hardware supportatissimo (grazie ad Asus).
Spiacente.
Visto comunque che ci sono un paio di elementi generici (come riconoscimento dell'hw), prova a fornire l'output di
Codice:
$ sudo lshw -numeric
ed anche, dato che si tratta di problemi di touchpad e touchscreen, quello di
Codice:
$ xinput list

Se usi il pulsante "Nuova risposta" per rispondere, e vuoi incollare un testo lungo, prima incolla il testo, poi lo selezioni, infine premi il pulsante che ti indico nella 1 figura;
se invece sei abituato ad incollare direttamente nell'area testuale devi scrivere manualmente il tag CODE in apertura e chiusura
(2° figura).
Fai una prova oppure guarda come l'ho inserito io nel tuo post precedente (lo puoi vedere con "Modifica rapida" sul tuo post con l'output)
usando questo tag un post con un output lunghissimo diventa molto più leggibile
