Lubuntu si blocca in spegnimento

Caro token grazie.
Ho fatto come hai detto: ..... "Visto che la macchina non è proprio nuova, come parametro al posto di noapic prova reboot=bios". ....
Quindi ho dato il comando

si è aperto il file di grub ed alla sringa

ho aggiunto "reboot=bios", come da te suggerito, trasformandola in

quindi ho salvato e chiuso il file di editor ed ho dato il comando

ed ho fatto i soliti due spegnimenti, nulla da fare. La macchina si impalla sempre con i puntini che corrono (nella schermata di Lubuntu) sotto la scritta Lubuntu. La macchina si spegne solo forzando il pulsante fisico di spegnimento. Se può aiutare aggiungo che ho provato un paio di volte (durante i vari tentativi) a dare il "riavvio" dalla tendina che si apre pigiando il pulsante di "arresta" posto alla destra sulla barra posta in basso sul desktop, ed il PC fa tutte le operazioni di "riavvio" (si spegne per una frazione di secondo e si riavvia).
Non so come andare avanti, accetto consigli.

E nella melassa che è diventato il mio cervello dopo tutte quelle stringhe e ripetizioni di comandi, credo di aver solo scritto male nel messaggio ma non sulla macchina. Ma siccome nulla deve essere lasciato al caso, ora devo correre al lavoro e non so quando potrò riprendere la macchina. Ma appena potrò riprendere in mano l'infernale macchina, rifaccio la procedura di scrittura e dò il comando:

A questo punto o c'è un aggiornamento del bios che magari risolve la cosa, oppure c'è qualche voce del bios (relativamente ad acpi) che può tornare utile, ma non conosco il computer.

Ok, ho riprovato. Ho ri-modificato la stringa del grub

ho dato il comando

ho fatto i 2 spegnimenti con il coamando

sudo sutdown -h now
Niente da fare, tutto come prima, spegnimento solo a seguito della pressione prolungata del tasto fisico di spegnimento (dopo che appare la schermata di chiusura di Lubuntu con i puntini che corrono sotto la scritta Lubuntu e dopo aver atteso un tempo congruo).
Aggiungo solo che mentre prima della variazione del grub il riavvio del pc (comandato dal menu a tendina che si apre cliccando sull'icona di spegnimento posta in basso a destra del desktop) partiva regolarmente, ora, con la stringa di grub modificata dando il comando di riavvio del pc (sempre dallo stesso percorso di prima) lo spegnimento si blocca alla solita schermata (però puntini sono fermi e non "corrono" sotto la scritta Lubuntu nella schermata di chiusura).
A questo punto ri-modifico la stringa del grub

Riportando tutto all'origine, quindi.
Comunque, per chi fosse interessato a conoscere la macchina in questione, allego il file "Hardinfo" che la mette a nudo. Magari qualcuno mi potrebbe dare dritte per aggiornare l'aggiornabile al fine di farla funzionare senza intoppi.

Da quanto hai postato vedo che il bios è in versione 3A06.
Sul sito di supporto (se non ho sbagliato macchina) vedo che è disponibile il 3A10.

Caro token e cari tutti,
prima di tutto preciso che non ho potuto rispondere prima, me ne scuso.
La macchina è tristemente ferma ed io avevo già controllato, seguendo il tuo primo consiglio di aggiornamento del bios. In verità non avevo nemmeno notato la differenza tra la versione montata e quella aggiornata del bios ma, seguendo i tuoi/vostri consigli, ho direttamente cercato gli aggiornamenti ed ho provato a scaricarli. Il problema è che quegli aggiornamenti risultano essere tutti file ".exe". La macchina l'ho aggiornata con "Lubuntu" e basta (data la vetustà e la scarsezza di risorse in termini di "RAM" ed "HD"). Quindi niente Window. Come faccio a lanciare dei file .exe? So che wine fa questo lavoro su macchine linux ma non l'ho mai usato e quando ci ho provato (in passato) non sono mai riuscito a capire come farlo funzionare.
Che faccio provo con wine? E se si, potrò montare wine sulla mia versione di Lubuntu e su una macchina così vecchia? Altri suggerimenti? Vorrei proprio farla funzionare a puntino quella vecchia ciabatta di macchina!

Il BIOS può essere "flashato" da una sessione freedos.
Devi crearti un dispositivo (cd, chiave usb) per bootare freedos ed usare quello (significa lavorare da console).
Per crearti una chiave usb con freedos potresti anche usare in linux Unetbootin (dovrebbe esserci una versione anche nei repository), tra i sistemi preselezionabili mi sembra ci sia un freedos.

Ovviamente nella speranza che il programma di aggiornamento del bios non sia un eseguibile per windows anziché per dos.
